Every possible precaution is taken to prevent a child getting lost. Children are also taught to stay by me during outings and are made aware of ‘stranger danger’. If I am taking out a number of children, I will take a photo of them before we leave because is not always easy to remember exactly what a child is wearing, especially when there are a number of them and a photo can prevent this problem in the unlikely event of a child getting lost. If this happens, I will immediately inform the people around me and alert the nearest security staff. The police will also be called if the child is not in the immediate vicinity. I always carry contact numbers with me so parents will also be alerted as soon as possible. Everything possible will be done to find the missing child. Any other children with me will be reassured. Should the situation escalate, the parents of these children will be contacted to take them home.
